![]() Health Insurance UKThe aim of this site is to provide consumers with well researched, objective information on the UK health insurance market. And, more to the point, how much of it is objective? We suggest the answer is not that much. Most sites on health insurance in the UK fall into one of two categories. Either they are sites owned by a particular insurance company trying to sell you their product (and often it is not clear unless you look very hard that this is the case). Or they are directory type sites with almost no information on them at all. These sites are basically 'hard sell' marketing platforms designed to get you to part with your money as quickly as possible.
We like to think we are a bit different. What we want to do is plug the information gap and provide you with facts not a sales pitch. If you want to click the links page to the left and get a quotation for a policy having looked at our site you can do so. And we make no apology for the fact that we will make a little bit of money if you do. But equally you can go elsewhere if you want to or not buy anything at all. That's equally fine. Because we're here primarily to provide information.
Basically there are two different types of health insurance cover:
The circumstances in which you would want one type on cover rather than the other are very different and we would encourage you to make sure you understand this distinction properly before parting with any money. In essence the decision to opt for private health care insurance is - for most people - to do with convenience and comfort. The logic for taking out a critical illness or income protection policy would generally be to guard against the possibility of the main bread winner in the family being unable to work. |
